Statue of Ramses II
The statue was found in Memphis, and then taken to Cairo in 1954, to be exhibited in the station square. It is 10 meters high and the double crow represents the unity between the North and South. On the back of the statue there is a stanchion bearing the Pharaoh’s titles, one of which is (The Strong Ox), which is the symbol of fertility. A replica of this statue stands now on the road leading to Cairo Airport.
