Ancient Saqqara

Saqqara is a great Old Cemetery in Egypt, which contains the oldest standing today stepped pyramid in the world. It is located about 30 km south of Cairo today. Memfis was the capital of ancient Egypt, Saqqara has served as its necropolis. Stepped pyramid in Saqqari built Imhotep for King Zoser (2667-2648. BC). This is the oldest fully preserved stone building in history. The most important object cemetery, dating from the third dynasty, it is just this stepped piramida. Along Zoser pyramid on the site there are 16 pyramids in a different state of preservation.Imhotep did was to first build a large mastaba and then over it he built a pyramid with four large steps. Unas pyramid, Pharaoh of the fifth dynasty, is located south of the stepwise pyramid. In it the earliest known examples texts of pzramid - signs that give directions for the otherworldly life that decorated the interior. Saqqara also is quite an impressive number of Mastaba tombs. Since the larger part cemetery covered with sand in the last two millennia, even a large complex of cryptic about Zoserova the pyramid was not discovered until the year 1924. Many of these buildings are well preserved, including the luxurious interior decoration as well as the external structure of graves.
